Meron to Visit B&H from 25th to 27th November

theodor meronICTY and MICT President Theodor Meron will conduct a three-day working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on 25-27 November 2014. During his mission President Meron will meet victims of the conflicts that took place in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990’s and visit locations where the ICTY has established that crimes were committed against Bosniaks, Croats and Serbs during the conflicts.

President Meron is scheduled to visit Čelebići, Uzdol and Sarajevo. Press statements will be given by the President and there will be an opportunity for photographs to be taken at the following times and locations:

Wednesday 26 November       

–    Čelebići, following a visit to the former detention centre, today the barracks of the Army of BiH, arrival at 10:00, press statement approx. 10:30

–    Uzdol, following a visit to the monument to those killed in September 1993, arrival at 13:30, press statement approx. 13:50

Thursday 27 November    

–    Sarajevo, following a visit to the Monument of the Killed Children of Besieged Sarajevo, arrival at 09:15, statement to the press approx. 09:25.

–    Sarajevo, visit to the 2nd Gymnasium to meet students and teachers involved in ICTY Outreach’s Youth Project(photo opportunity only), arrival at 09:40.

Whilst in Sarajevo, President Meron will also meet with the President of the BiH Court, Meddžida Kreso, and with High Representative, Ambassador Valentin Inzko.
