Another suicide, the fourth in a row, of a minor in the town of Jardol near Vitez, three days ago, worried the locals, as well as the competent authorities who launched an investigation into the case.

A few days ago, another minor committed suicide in Jardol near Vitez, and he was buried two days ago in Jardol. Four juvenile suicides in the last three years, two of which occurred in the first 8 months of this year, alarmed both the police and the prosecutor’s office.

We were told by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Central Bosnia Canton that 2 suicides of minors were reported this year, and two more such cases in 2021 and 2022.

“In cooperation with the competent Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office, in these cases, the police officers took the measures and actions prescribed by law,” they told us from the Ministry of Interior of the SBK.

The Prosecutor’s Office of the SBK informed the public that in this as well as in previous cases, they have taken all the activities and actions and that a case has been formed in order to see if there is a connection between these cases after interviews with witnesses and a detailed investigation.

The locals of Jardol are in shock and disbelief, and the students and staff of the school also said goodbye to the boy who died on August 27 with a very poignant message.

“It is difficult to express the words of comfort that we could send at this moment to the parents of our student with whom we grew up for nine years, but our thoughts and prayers are with them in these extremely difficult moments. Dear D., to us and to all those who knew you you left an indelible mark, and our tears, which have been flowing since morning, send you off to a new world where we will meet again,” reads the school’s message to the boy’s family, expressing sincere condolences to the inconsolable parents and family members.

More details about the circumstances and whether there is a connection between these cases will be known in the coming days.

A more detailed investigation was also requested by the media operating in the area of the Central Bosnian Canton, who asked the authorities to investigate whether someone is behind these cases, whether it is a person, a group, algorithms on social networks or something else, but also that the authorities observe all this as a collective case of investigation and not as isolated accidents, Klix.ba reports.
