Federal Police Administration conducts Searches of the Residential Properties

Acting on orders from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Municipal Court in Visoko, police officers from the Federal Police Administration (FUP) searched residential properties and other premises in the areas of Zavidovići and Visoko. During these searches, they discovered and temporarily seized a 3D printer, computer equipment, weapons, weapon parts, ammunition, police uniforms and insignia, shipment receipts, and other items linked to the ongoing investigations.

Operating under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, officers from the Federal Police Administration conducted months-long investigations aimed at uncovering and documenting the illegal production, sale, and international trafficking of firearm parts and components.

As part of these activities—conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina—it was determined that there are grounds for suspicion that two individuals from the Zavidovići area, utilizing 3D printing technology and online platforms for advertising and sales, were involved in the production and trafficking of parts intended for automatic and semi-automatic firearms, without the necessary permits from the competent authorities.

Investigative actions documented the advertising and sale of these products via online platforms, as well as the dispatch of postal shipments—including shipments sent outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina—the Federal Police Administration (FUP) stated. Furthermore, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, activities of an individual linked to the illegal possession of weapons within the territory of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been documented.

During the investigation, conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, international police cooperation was facilitated through EUROPOL. Additionally, forensic examinations and analyses were carried out, yielding evidence relevant to documenting the activities in question.

Due to grounds for suspicion regarding the commission of the criminal offense of “unauthorized trafficking in weapons, military equipment, and dual-use goods”—as defined by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina—a report on the commission of a criminal offense was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina against one individual. A supplementary report was subsequently filed, implicating a second individual suspected of aiding in the commission of the aforementioned offense. Meanwhile, a report on the commission of a criminal offense was submitted to the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Zenica-Doboj Canton against one individual for the offense of “illicit possession of weapons or explosive materials,” pursuant to the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
