The traditional inter-religious meeting “Spirit of Assisi” was held on Wednesday night in the church of St. Elijah in Zenica, and the heads of religious denominations in Zenica with their presence sent messages of peace and respect.

Organized by the Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), the heads of denominations in Zenica gathered on November 10th in the church of St. Elijah in Zenica, from where, as every year, they sent messages of peace, unity, and respect, and this year’s slogan of the meeting was “Let everyone be together“.

“For the twelfth year in a row, the Interreligious Cooperation Council Zenica wants to send messages of hope, faith, love, and goodness from our city through this event. We lack a lot in our common homeland, and together we are called to bring optimism to our social narratives – despite everything,”  it was pointed out by the Interreligious Cooperation Council in Zenica.

As part of this event, the annual award “Zenica Charter of Peace” was presented to the Center for Nurturing Choir Singing, Education and Creative Development of Seniors “Kasiopeja“, and conductor Aldina Aganovic explained that they were honored to receive such significant recognition for their contribution to the interreligious dialogue and the peace promotion.

Messages of peace and tolerance in BiH society were sent to the public by the parish priest Fr. Mirko Kepic, Imam Jakub ef. Salkcija, Deputy OSCE Ambassador to BiH Dmitry Lordanidi, and Fabien Congnaud as a representative of a delegation of peace activists from France.
