The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, said at a press conference in Brussels on Thursday that it is time to open accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina today, at the summit of the European Council.

Metsola points out that the enlargement of the European Union, with membership based on clear goals, criteria and merits, will always serve as the best investment in peace and security, stability and prosperity on our continent.

“That is why it is time to open accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the EU today,” concluded the President of the European Parliament.

We remind you that a summit is being held in Brussels, where the leaders of the European Union will, among other things, decide on the opening of accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Bosnia and Herzegovina was granted candidate status in December 2022, and last week the European Commission gave a positive recommendation for the start of official accession negotiations, Fena news agency reports.
