MFA: BiH Citizens involved in the Defense of the Country should not travel to Serbia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (MFA BiH) has recommended to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who were in any way involved in the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the period of aggression, from 1992 to the end of 1995, to put a hold on all their travels to the Republic of Serbia.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, the warning is issued due to the risk of arrest and prosecution in the Republic of Serbia on charges of alleged war crimes, based on previous cases of arrests of BiH nationals against whom no proceedings are being conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina or are being charged by the BiH judicial institutions for war crimes.

“Unfortunately, the warning is issued due to circumstances in which the institutions of the Republic of Serbia do not show the will for active international cooperation and exchange of information in this area, based on previously signed protocols and international law,” stated the MFA BiH.
