Representatives of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in a conference in Ljubljana on cooperation in the field of return of illegal migrants. The importance of joint cooperation in defining adequate regional migration management policies and increasing efficiency in the return of migrants was discussed.
Sasa Kecman from the Ministry of Security of BiH spoke about the importance of migrant returns for efficient migration management and as a measure to prevent and deter illegal entry into BiH. He emphasized that the Ministry of Security of BiH has made a big step in that direction by signing readmission agreements or starting negotiations with all countries from which most illegal migrants come.
Mirsad Buzar, Deputy Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, presented the cooperation with the countries of origin of illegal migrants. In addition to the exchange of experiences in this area, the importance of establishing partnerships and mechanisms for mutual assistance in identifying migrants and establishing cooperation with countries of origin was pointed out.
The conference is organized by the Joint Coordination Platform (JCP), Hilfswerk and the Ministry of the Interior of Slovenia, the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated in the press release.
