Migrants in the Lipa camp near Bihac, after four days of refusal, today accepted the food distributed to them by members of the Red Cross of the City of Bihac. The current situation on Lipa is calm. Two meals will be distributed to migrants today.

The Red Cross said that they talked to the migrants yesterday and this morning and tried to persuade them to give up the hunger strike and accept meals.

Secretary of the Red Cross of the City of Bihac Selam Midzic said: “We talked about the strike and everything that will happen in the coming period. I believe that the government institutions and everyone involved in this camp will do everything to close these kiosks, because food was produced there only for those who most likely had money. ”

The tents of the Armed Forces of BiH, which were set up a few days ago, are still empty, and the decision of the Presidency of BiH to prepare for the stay of migrants is awaited, BHRT writes.

In accordance with the decision of the Presidency of BiH, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday began to install military tents in the camp “Lipa” for the needs of accommodation of migrants.

More than 40 motor vehicles and more than 180 members of the BiH Armed Forces arrived at the Lipa camp and set up about 30 tents. The request for setting up military tents was submitted by the BiH Ministry of Security in the prescribed procedure to the BiH Ministry of Defense, which forwarded the request for approval to the BiH Presidency, as Commander-in-Chief, and the BiH Presidency approved the request.

In this way, the Armed Forces of BiH will help endangered migrants, but also the current mitigation of the migrant crisis in BiH. As always, when different competent levels of government in the country are not able to respond in a timely manner to various crises and threats, the Armed Forces BiH is ready to responsibly perform every task set before them by the Presidency of BiH, for the benefit of citizens across the country, is stated from the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
