Zoran Milanovic, President of Croatia, awarded King Dmitar Zvonimir during the Grand Order for his exceptional contribution to the preservation of Croatian identity, and for exceptional achievements in interreligious, cultural, and humanitarian activities of Cardinal Vinko Puljic, Archbishop of the Vrhbosna Archdiocese.
After the awarding of Cardinal Vinko Puljic, Milanovicanswered questions from journalists and commented on current political topics. One of them was the results of the census in Croatia.
Plenkovic is not guilty, we have no influence on that
”The same people who accused me a few years ago, the same thing is now happening to them. I will never blame them for something they are not responsible for. What happened in the process happened to many European Union (EU) members, ie all other countries fell in population and began to recover, ” stated Milanovic, adding:
”That’s a fact. Plenkovic has no influence on that, I did not have it either. People simply leave, gain new experiences, many of them return. That will surely happen to us as well. For two years now, I have been using the term moral panic, especially when addressing those who accused me, and that was primarily Plenkovic, expecting this result, preparing all of us for what we will get. This is not the end of Croatia, our country, this is not the end of Croatian tradition. It’s just a situation, I won’t even call it a crisis. Croatians will not die out, ” pointed out Milanovic.
Serbian politics in BiH does no harm to Croats
The Croatian president also commented on the events in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
”Dodik was a favorite of the West and is now a legitimate representative of the Serbian people. Republika Srpska (RS) was proclaimed in 1992 but was ratified by the Paris-Dayton Agreement. Tudjman signed it, there is no going back. I do not see that Serbian politics in BiH is doing harm to Croats.
Without Serbs in BiH, we will not solve this problem. I care, but for some, it is obviously not enough, ” Milanovic stressed and said that Dodik is currently a partner of Croatia in BiH.
Milanovic told that the artistic director in Banja Luka made a mistake and that those songs should not have been sung to mark the unconstitutional day of RS.
