Fair of agricultural products, created with the support of USAID / Sida FARMA project was held yesterday on the Square of children of Sarajevo.
Agricultural producers presented their milk and dairy products, fruits and vegetables, honey and honey products. The technological innovations in the field of agriculture, which were created as part of FARMA project, were presented as well.
This project started in September, 2009 and will end next month.
The Fostering Agricultural Markets Activity (FARMA) project, or program development of commercial agriculture, is jointly financed by the Governments of Sweden and the US government, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The project is helping B&H to expand its economy and prepare for accession to the EU through assistance that improves the competitiveness of B&H agricultural producers and businesses.
Marie Bergstrom, the Director of development cooperation at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, visited the fair, and said to journalists that it was a great pleasure to support the project that showed such remarkable results.
“The main goal is to support efforts of B&H to join the European Union, and finally become a member state,” said Bergstrom.
