Federal Minister of Culture and Sports Sanja Vlaisavljević stated in an interview that the Ministry has made significant capital and program investments this year, including 36 million KM for sports infrastructure, 15 million KM for cultural projects, and almost one million KM for support for young athletes.
Speaking about the most important projects and results of the work of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports this year, Vlaisavljević said that the Sports Foundation has come to life at full capacity and that almost one million KM in incentives for young athletes has been allocated – for equipment, awards, and support for their work and effort.
As a special step forward, she cited the implementation of Article 9 of the Regulation on Rewards, which gives the minister the discretionary right to reward non-Olympic sports.
– We initiated this in order to correct discrimination against non-Olympic sports, bearing in mind that the Regulation only provided for Olympic sports – she noted.
Also, a complete law on maintenance and remuneration of athletes has been prepared and regulated, which the minister believes the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon adopt.
She also highlighted significant progress in the Special Olympics of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– We raised the Special Olympics to a pedestal it had never been on before by signing the Cooperation Agreement, for which we received extremely big congratulations from the World Association – stressed Vlaisavljević.
In the segment of sports infrastructure, 36 million KM were invested in capital projects that local communities have determined as priorities.
She emphasized that 15 million KM of capital investments were realized in the field of culture, and new projects and transfers were introduced that did not exist before.
– I would especially emphasize the mobility of artists. That transfer really opened the door for our artists to be able to leave peacefully, at least partially, organizing exhibitions, events and education – said Vlaisavljević, adding that in this way they enabled artists to present their works in the best possible way in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also on the world stage.
Among other things, she reminded that the FBiH Government adopted the Strategy for Youth, which, she points out, is an extremely important strategic document that does not take away constitutional competences, but provides action guidelines for young people and institutions. For the first time, he says, the Youth Council was formed as an intersectoral body that will monitor youth issues and offer solutions.
