The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) and the miners’ unions have reached an agreement regarding the collective agreement and the salary increase. A decision was made to pay miners an equal salary increase by December, but also to extend the previously expired collective agreement.

Representatives of the Government of the FBiH, Elektroprivreda BiH, the Brown Coal Mine in Banovici, and the miners’ union held a meeting in Sarajevo yesterday, where they found a joint solution. It refers to the extension of the collective agreement with one change, which will be realized in the coming days.

As it is known, the miners of seven mines operating in the concern of Elektroprivreda BiH together with the miners from the Brown Coal Mine in Banovici presented specific requests to the authorities, which referred to the creation of a new collective agreement, which will increase the hourly rate by 20 percent, that is, from 2.70 to 3.24 BAM.

230 BAM to all employees

However, the end result is such that an extension of the collective agreement, which expired on April 30th this year, has been agreed, with a linear, ie equal increase in salaries for employees in the mines in the FBiH.

“During the meeting, it was agreed to extend the validity of the collective agreement, which was in force until April 30th this year, with changed circumstances. It refers to the fact that in a socially acceptable way, starting from May 1st to December 31stthis year, that is, until the drafting of a new collective agreement, 230 BAM will be paid linearly to all workers, ” noted Zuhdija Tokic, president of the Trade Union of the Kreka Coal Mine, which operates within the concern of Elektroprivreda BiH.

“Today we finally agreed to extend the existing collective agreement and to introduce a net increase of 230 BAM within fees and salaries equally for all. In this way, those people who have low salaries will get a bigger increase, while those who have high salaries will now have a smaller increase. We will send the proposal for opinions on Monday, after which we will organize a telephone session of the FBiH government, and then sign an agreement or a new collective agreement valid until the end of 2022, “Dzindic said yesterday, noting that intensive negotiations have lasted for the past seven to ten days, Klix.ba writes.
