Minister condemned the brutal Attack on the young Man

The Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sevlid Hurtić today strongly condemned the brutal and cowardly attack on the young man Osman Mehanović, which took place on June 23, 2023 in the evening hours, in the center of Bratunac.

Hurtić asked the police and the prosecutor’s office to immediately arrest and prosecute the thugs, who committed this crime, according to the victim, on a national basis.

“Unfortunately, after the brutal beating of the Memišević couple in Visegrad in the most chosen month of Muslims – Ramadan, this time, on the eve of Eid al-Adha, a returnee was attacked again, who suffered serious bodily injuries.

Not prosecuting thugs and bandits additionally encourages new attackers to commit similar crimes, which creates great insecurity among returnees, who daily demand that the relevant state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina be included in the investigation of attacks,” said Hurtić.

He asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska to provide a safe living environment for all citizens in this entity, especially in the places of large returns.

“I especially appeal that security measures be increased in the returnees’ communities in the coming days during the celebration of the great holiday of Eid Al Adha,” stated the reaction of Minister Hurtić.
