The Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska (RS), Dragan Lukac, said yesterday to agency Srna that the Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to collect information on people who used the “Sky” application and that based on this, there will be more arrests for crimes committed.

Lukac reminded that a large number of persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) used this method of communication for criminal activities.

“In the last few months, we have been fighting organized crime in such a way that the ‘Sky’ application was decrypted in cooperation with Europol, as well as the prosecutor’s offices in BiH. We detained a large number of persons who used this application, for which we have irrefutable evidence, and I believe that some of them will be convicted,” said Lukac.

He stated that the material is extensive and must be analyzed, which takes time.

“Persons also used encrypted codes, and now that the ‘Sky’ application has been opened, we see that many criminal acts took place without the police and prosecutors’ offices knowing about it. I am sure that in the coming period, based on the collected information, there will be more arrests,” pointed out Lukac.

He says that the arrests will lead to more operational data that the police will be able to use, and that no one will be protected, Klix.ba reports.
