At the invitation of Nermin Đindić, Minister of Energy and Mining of the FBiH, a meeting was held today regarding the problem with the Zenica miners.
After the meeting, the President of the Union of Miners of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sinan Husić, addressed the media.
He pointed out that the non-appearance of the representative of the City Administration of the City of Zenica shows the level of non-seriousness towards this situation.
“We are in a very difficult situation, today we emphasized our demands to the representatives of Elektroprivreda and the mine, that is, that they must act in accordance with the law, that is, the conclusions of the City Council,” said Husić.
He added that tomorrow the strike or labor disobedience will start again in other mines as well.
Minister Đindić, also invited the mayor of Zenica, Fuad Kasumović, to the meeting.
Minister Đindić, assessed that the behavior of the mayor of Zenica, Fuad Kasumović, is completely unclear.
After today’s meeting with representatives of the miners, Dindic expressed his willingness to discuss the new situation with representatives of the relevant institutions in order to find a solution that is currently “absolutely in the hands of Mayor Kasumović”.
The Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry announced that Đindić organized a meeting today with the aim of resolving the status of the “Zenica” Brown Coal Mine after the blockade by the City Administration of Zenica, to which Kasumović did not attend.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Trade Union, “Elektroprivreda” and the Administration of the “Zenica” Brown Coal Mine.
Zenica miners said they will continue their strike after no agreement was reached at today’s meeting with Dindic.
The miners are demanding payment of wages and a hot meal, and the accounts of the brown coal mine “Zenica” are still blocked due to a debt to the city administration of three million BAM.
On Friday, March 31, the miners held a protest walk and blocked the intersection on the main road near Zenica.
