Minister Ramo Isak convinced: ‘There will be no war in Bosnia and Herzegovina’

Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak, on the occasion of numerous media inquiries to comment on the adoption of the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, announced that this is a civilizational issue that no one has the right to politicize.

“I want to clearly tell the Serbian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia that genocidal nations do not exist and that there is no idea, goal or plan of anyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina to declare the Serbian people genocidal.

I call on the holders of public offices, first of all from the Bosnian entity of RS, and then from the neighboring Republic of Serbia, to start behaving responsibly and not to label the Serbian people as a genocidal nation in their statements.

I am of the clear opinion that war criminals responsible for genocide should not be equated with nations, just as I am of the clear opinion that it is best for the Serbian people that the government of the Republic of Serbia distance itself from the perpetrators of war crimes and to condemn war crimes. It is a civilizing obligation of the authorities of the neighboring country.

The Serbian people are an integral and indispensable part of the mosaic called the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. These are our citizens for whom – just like Bosniaks, Croats and all other citizens – we are building a more successful, promising and prosperous country within the existing borders.

There will be no war in Bosnia and Herzegovina because the Republika Srpska will not secede just as it will not be abolished. For me, neither Milorad Dodik nor Nenad Nešić are genocidal people, but they are politicians who deny genocide and the judgments of international courts and people who celebrate war criminals, which is unacceptable.

I call on the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to stop the propaganda that attempts to present the adoption of the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica as declaring the Serbian people a genocidal nation.

The resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica is a civilizational need,” stated Minister Ramo Isak in a press release.
