The Minister of Defense of B&H Zekerijah Osmić, who arrived today on a two-day official visit to Serbia, met in Belgrade with the Minister of Defense of Serbia Nebojša Rodić.
The two ministers expressed satisfaction during the meeting with the existing good cooperation in the area of defense, stating that there are real grounds for its significant improvement, announced the Ministry of Defense of Serbia after the meeting that was held behind closed doors.
The field of cooperation between B&H and Serbia, as it was said, is education and training, military medical, military and economic and cultural and sports cooperation. In the next period, they plan to intensify this form of cooperation, as well as the training of members of the Ministry of Defense and the B&H Armed Forces Center for training of personnel nuclear-biological-chemical defense (ABHO) in Kruševac, and members of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Serbia in the Center for training and participation in peace operations Butmir.
By increasing the scope of this cooperation, as well as exchanges of experience, experts and the engagement of teachers in national training centers for participation in peace operations in Butmir and Belgrade would create the basis for a possible joint involvement in peacekeeping operations under the auspices of the UN and the EU.
During the two-day visit to Serbia, Minister of Defense of B&H will visit the University of Defense and the Military Medical Academy (VMA).
