The Minister of Defense of BiH Zekerijah Osmić received in an inaugural visit the Ambassador of Germany to BiH Ulrike Mariu Knotz and that military attaché of Germany accredited in BiH, Colonel Rupert Steeger.
Minister Osmić thanked the German government, and in particular the Ministry of Defense of BiH for the support provided by the armed forces of BiH for various projects, and especially when it comes to training and development.
They spoke about the accession of BiH to NATO and Euro-Atlantic integration, the participation of BiH troops in the ISAF Mission in the German contingent, and the method of caring for members of the armed forces of BiH and their transition into civil society.
Ambassador Knotz said that the Ministry of Defense and the armed forces of BiH are a model and a remarkable example of the successful reform process, and that they are important for BiH’s accession to NATO and the EU.
She stressed that Germany supports BiH on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration, noting that he hopes that the last condition for obtaining MAP will soon be fulfilled.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current cooperation in the field of defense, and voiced expectations that cooperation will continue and expand in the future.
