Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia-Herzegovina recommends that all Bosnian citizens who plan to travel to China postpone the trip until further notice, and for Bosnian citizens currently in China to follow the notices of the Chinese health authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Ministry states that on December 31, 2019, Chinese authorities announced news of a number of cases of pneumonia in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province, caused by a new type of coronavirus. The patients have symptoms of fever, shortness of breath and have been diagnosed with viral pneumonia.
Cases of new patients have started to appear in various parts of China, but also around the world, mainly with people who have recently visited or been in contact with Wuhan. The possibility of transmission of this virus infection from person to person has been confirmed.
On January 23, 2020, in addition to the city of Wuhan, the local authorities of the province of Hubei introduced a recommendation for three other cities not to leave the city without special reason, to close airports and train stations, and to suspend public transport. Preventive measures have been put in place across China to prevent the spread of the virus (advice on wearing protective masks and the like).
“It is recommended that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina located in China strictly adhere to the usual measures of reducing the risk of respiratory diseases and follow the notifications of the Chinese health authorities and the World Health Organization on the state of the spread of the virus and the preventive measures to be taken. For all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who have planned to travel to China, we recommend that they postpone the trip until further notice,” the recommendation of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs states.
