At the moment, according to available data, no citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina is on the side of Ukrainian forces on the territory of Ukraine, the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated today.
The Ministry reacted to the statements about the alleged recruitment and sending of mercenaries from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Ukraine.
Earlier today, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic reacted to statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who said in an interview with Russian media that Moscow had information that mercenaries from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo were being sent to Ukraine.
“We will send an official inquiry to the Russian Embassy in Sarajevo regarding this statement. If Mr. Lavrov has any information about such activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, I hope he shared it with our security services even before he made it public.” , said Turkovic.
She also added that officials should only present verified information to the public, especially when talking about other countries and especially when it comes to security or stability.
In an interview with Russia Today (RT) today, Lavrov said that Moscow is re-checking the information that suggests that mercenaries are being recruited for deployment in Donbas from Kosovo, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
