Mirnesa Bektas won Bronze Medal in Rotterdam

A member of the University karate club “Bosna” Mirnesa Bektas participated at the Karate1 Premier League – Rotterdam 2018 last weekend, which is a competition held in the Netherlands for the Olympics in Tokyo 2020.

Mirnesa performed in the category of fights of seniors +68 kg. Mirnesa won against Pillant Aurora (France) with the result  2: 0 in the first round, but she lost in the second round from Abbasali Hamideh (Iran), who occupies the 6th place in the World Ranking List.

Thanks to Iranian representative who managed to get to the finals, Mirnesa got the opportunity to won the medal through a rematch, which she did.

In the rematches, Mirnesa won the first fight against Hana Antunovic (Sweden) with the result 1: 0.

Her second fight was against Maria Garcia Torres (Spain), and Mirnesa won this one as well. In the decisive fight for third place, Mirnesa won against Anna Laura Florentin from France, who occupies the 3rd place in the World Ranking List in the category of fights of seniors +68 kg.

This medal will bring progress on the World Ranking List to Mirnesa, as well as some great points for meeting the norm for the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2020.
