B&H tennis player, Mirza Bašić, has advanced on the ATP list, which was published last week, for 36 positions after defeating Ricardas Berankis with the score 2: 1 in sets, in the finals of the ATP Challenger tournament in Recanati.
Bašić won his first ATP Challenger title in his career and he currently occupies the 153rd position.
Mirza pointed out that his last performances were very good.
“I am satisfied with my performance on the tournament in Recanati. It is the result of the cooperation with my coach, Daniel Meyers. Moreover, I had the support of my brother Damir, with whom I work while staying in Sarajevo,” said Bašić.
He also added that his current placement will make him future performances on the competitions much easier.
“The current placement on the ATP list will give me better positions at the forthcoming tournaments. I’ll try to play as many matches like this as possible,” said Bašić, whose rode model is Roger Federer.
Finally, he emphasized that B&H tennis players are recently recording very good results.
“Every top professional sport requires a lot of effort, hard work and a great sacrifice. The fact that our small country has 4 tennis players among the top 250 on the ATP list, speaks enough about the success of B&H Tennis,” concluded Bašić.
