Moamer Kasumovic “bought” his Freedom and continued working: Filmed Two Series, acted in Plays

Moamer Kasumovic, after being convicted in 2021 for the criminal offense of lewd acts against a minor, “bought” his freedom and continued filming series and acting in plays.

Since 2021, Kasumovic has acted in numerous productions, one of which is the series “Princ iz Eleja” (Prince from LA) produced by BH Content Lab.

The Bosnian and Herzegovinian (BiH) comedy series was directed by Alen Simic, and in addition to Moamer Kasumovic, the cast included Alen Muratovic, Nadine Micic, Mediha Musliovic, and many others. The series began filming on January 24th, 2023 and was broadcast on Moja TV.

Kasumovic was also given the lead role in the series “Halo Taxi” by Fedja Isovic. Filming of this series began on September 24th, 2023, in Hrasnica, Sarajevo.

In addition to the series he filmed in our capital, Kasumovic was also actively working in the theater in neighboring Montenegro.

Kasumovic directed the play “Kokoska” (The Hen) based on the text by Nikolay Kolyada in Bijelo Polje, and for directing this play he also received an award for best direction at the 15th “Repassage Fest”.

The witty drama “Osmi smrtni grijeh” (The Eighth Deadly Sin) written and directed by Obrad Nenezic recently premiered before the audience in Bijelo Polje. The play will also be performed in the same city at the beginning of October. The main actors in the story are Moamer Kasumovic and Omar Bajramspahic.

In the last few years, news has appeared in the media that the popular actor Moamer Kasumovic had retreated to his hometown of Bijelo Polje in Montenegro. However, no one could have guessed the real reason behind his decision to return to his birthplace.

While many thought it was his love for his hometown that drove him to return, the real truth came to light just a few days ago.

It should be recalled that Moamer Kasumovic was sentenced in 2021 to one year in prison for the crime of lewd acts against a minor.

The case was discovered after the Belgrade National Theatre performance “Tiho tise” (Quietly, Quieter) was performed as part of the 6th Sarajevo Fest on September 16th at the Sarajevo National Theatre, when a discussion was held about the play, which is about peer violence. This prompted one young man to tell his story of sexual abuse. He said that his abuser was the famous actor Moamer Kasumovic.

After the young man’s confession, a statement was issued by the Canton Sarajevo (CS) Prosecutor’s Office, which confirmed that Moamer Kasumovic was sentenced to one year in prison for the crime of lewd acts against a minor.

The incident occurred in 2021, after which a report was filed, leading to a legal process that resulted in a conviction sentencing Kasumovic to one year in prison.

Since the law allows for sentences of up to one year to be “bought” (with one day costing around 100 BAM), it is assumed that the BiH actor took advantage of this provision, which is why he never served time behind bars, Klix.ba writes.
