First of all, I can give Milan my experience and I hope to fulfill all the fans’ expectations, said the captain of the Croatian football team, Luka Modrić, at the official presentation at his new club Milan.

As the player with the most trophies in his rich history, this summer, after 13 years, Modrić left Real Madrid and joined Milan.

“As a boy, I watched the Italian Serie A the most. Milan has always been my favorite Italian club, and I loved it even more because my idol Zvonimir Boban played for it. I have always been particularly attached to Milan. I will work hard and I want to be as good in the jersey of my new club as before. To give Milan what I gave to my previous clubs. I know that the expectations of me are high, but I am ready for it,” said 39-year-old Modrić.

“I want to adapt as soon as possible to Serie A, which is very competitive and goes back to the period when it was the best league in the world. It was always a pleasure for me to watch Serie A. I can’t wait to start this challenge and we in Milan must not be satisfied with a mediocre season or just placing in the Champions League. I watched some friendly matches of Milan this summer. It was quite good, but I believe we can still improve”, Modrić expressed his opinion and added that he is full of enthusiasm before the start of Milan adventures.

“I have always been quite competitive and I want to transfer that attitude to the team. Milan must always strive to win trophies and I hope we will show that kind of character on the field. Milan is a big club with a big army of fans. The welcome I experienced in Milan was impressive,” said Modrić and touched on the Croatian national team.

“Certainly one of my goals is to play in the World Cup with Croatia next year, but first we have to successfully complete the qualifications. I wouldn’t talk much about the future. I live in the moment and right now the most important thing for me is to prepare properly for the start of Serie A”, concluded Modrić.
