Monaco’s Minister of State, or Prime Minister, Didier Guillaume, has died at the age of 65.

The Prince’s Palace issued an official statement on Friday, January 17, announcing the death of Guillaume, Minister of State of the Principality of Monaco.

A week after the Prince’s government announced that he had been hospitalized, Didier Guillaume died in hospital after a sudden illness.

The Prince extended his deepest condolences to his wife, children, brother and all his family and friends.

Members and employees of the Government have extended their condolences to his wife and family, according to the website of the Government of Monaco.

“He will be remembered for his professional skills, his passionate political commitment to improving people’s lives, and his talent for unification,” the message of condolences said.

In office since September 2, 2024, Didier Guillaume has distinguished himself with his dedication to serving the Principality, decisively contributing to significant progress on key issues for Monaco, both nationally and internationally.
