Money for Early Elections in RS Still Not Secured

The money for holding early elections for the President of Republika Srpska has not yet been secured.

The elections require 6.4 million marks, and the money was supposed to be provided by the Minister of Finance of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srđan Amidžić, who had a 15-day deadline to sign the decision and make the funds operational.

Amidžić’s deadline expired on Friday, and now it is his deputy, Muhamed Hasanović, who previously said that he would sign the Decision as soon as the conditions are met.

He confirmed to BHRT that the procedures are pending completion and that as soon as the secretary of the ministry prepares all the necessary decisions, he will sign them.

The Central Election Commission cannot begin the process of preparing for the elections without a signature.

The public is asking whether the missed deadlines have put the holding of early elections for the President of Republika Srpska in question.

The CEC has scheduled the elections for November 23.
