In Bosnia and Herzegovina, in May 2026, tourists made 202,742 arrivals, which is 26.1 percent more than in April this year and 2.3 percent less than in May last year.
In May, tourists made 409,674 overnight stays, which is 26.4 percent more than in April 2026 and 0.9 percent more than in May 2025. In the structure of total overnight stays, the share of domestic tourists was 29 percent, while the share of foreign tourists was 71 percent.
The number of overnight stays of domestic tourists in May 2026 was 18.6 percent higher than in April 2026, and 7.9 percent lower than in May 2025. The number of overnight stays of foreign tourists in May was 29.8 percent higher than in April 2026 and five percent higher than in May last year.
In the structure of overnight stays by foreign tourists, the most overnight stays in May were made by tourists from Serbia with a participation of 12.7 percent, followed by Turkey with 11 percent, Croatia with 10.2 percent, Slovenia with 6.4 percent, Germany with 5.2 percent, the United States with five percent and France with 3.6 percent. These countries account for 54.1 percent of the total number of overnight stays by foreign tourists, while the remaining 45.9 percent of overnight stays are made by tourists from other countries, according to data from the BiH Statistics Agency.
In May 2026, 21,848 rooms, apartments and camping sites were available to tourists, with an available capacity of 49,731 beds. Compared to May 2025, the number of rooms, apartments and camping sites decreased by 2.3 percent, while the number of beds decreased by 0.8 percent.
