[wzslider autoplay=”true”]Umoljani, a BH village situated on the Bjelasnica Mountain at 1.353 meters above sea level, is one of the rare mountain villages where live goes on during the winter as well.
Despite a lot of snow, that can sometimes exceed the height of several meters, six residents of Umoljani stay in the village. However, during other seasons, Umoljani are full of both life and residents. They all come back to their native village and, as they say, spend the days in fresh air.
While the high temperatures are still present across B&H, the residents of Umoljani who stay in this village during winter as well are slowly preparing for the winte. Life in this once authentic village is not the same it used to be.
Once authentic Bosnian village, it lost its title when it was completely burnt in the war year of 1993.
Untouched nature
The village was restored, but not in its original form. There are no more roofs with shingles, stone houses and a country road, but modern houses made of new construction materials, and with asphalt through the village. There is public lighting, asphalt, and the houses are connected to electricity.
Hills, untouched nature, sheep and cows on the road – this is a scene experienced by everyone who decides to head to Umoljani and leave the city rush. Peace and quiet, and just the vastness of nature.
