London-Sarajevo ekapija.baThe Minister of Transport and Communications of FB&H Denis Lasić met yesterday with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to B&H Edward Ferguson.

Two topics were discussed at the meeting. First topic was the establishment of a regular air route between London and Sarajevo, since it was concluded that there is interest in re-establishment of flights on this route.

The Minister proposed and the Ambassador accepted that, besides the Sarajevo International Airport, possibilities for cooperation with the Tuzla International Airport and Mostar International Airport should also be explored.

“The Ministry I am leading intends to provide all necessary support in order to open the air space and overcome administrative barriers, the interest is not in question, and all three airports expect infrastructure investments in the coming period which would enable them to open new routes and offer better services,” the Minister Lasić said.

Second topic of the meeting was transportation strategy, a document that is to be developed within the framework of a working group led by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of FB&H. Representatives of ministries from both entities, the Brčko District, and the public enterprises of roads, highways, railways and other forms of transportation will be invited to the group.

Lasić highlighted that the Ministry of Transport and Communications of FB&H recognized the importance of this project and that it will give its full contribution to that process.
