As part of the operational action code-named “Bure”, carried out in the territory of Ilijaš municipality, the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Directorate for Indirect Taxation of Bosnia and Herzegovina yesterday and today, with the assistance of police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, seized 1,095 kg of synthetic narcotics, which represents the largest seizure of this type of drug in our country.
The market value of the confiscated drugs is estimated at 5,000,000 euros, the BiH Border Police announced.
It is an extremely dangerous synthetic cathinone, which is a substitute for cocaine and ecstasy. On the street market of BiH and the region, such synthetic stimulants are sold at a price of 20 to 30 euros per gram.
Taking into account that it is 1.1 tons of drugs, when it is broken down into individual street doses and grams, its total value on the street reaches between 25 million and 33 million euros.
In addition to the drugs, the BiH Border Police temporarily seized evidence, including special full-face masks with advanced filters and ribbed air intake tubes, which are used as protection during chemical synthesis and production of illegal substances.
Firearms, mobile phones, seals and business documents of legal entities were also temporarily confiscated.
All activities in the field are carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and in accordance with the orders of the Court of BiH, with the aim of fully documenting the criminal offense referred to in Article 195 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
One person was arrested in this operation. The campaign continues today, with searches at several locations. The work on the case continues, the press release states.
