Yesterday, in the mall Sarajevo City Center, organized by the “Heart for Children with Cancer in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH)” Association, a humane action of cutting and donating hair called “My Hair, Your Hair” was held. Already in the first hour and a half, there were over 100 applications to donate hair, which could result in the best response so far by 5 p.m., when the campaign was scheduled to last. Hair donors came from all parts of BiH: Sarajevo, Gorazde, Kiseljak, Tesanj, Semizovac, Ilijas, Konjic…

For several years in a row, this story has reached all parts of BiH, where hair donors come from, among whom there are many young people and children. Yesterday, just on this occasion, many participants in the action arrived from the other end of our country to fulfill the mission of bringing smiles back to the faces of children suffering from cancer.

Others who wanted to support this action in a different way had the opportunity to buy some of the clothing with the logo Heart for children with cancer, and thus support the “My Hair Your Hair” project.

All collected hair will be taken to the Association’s workshop, where master wig makers will make wigs that will be completely free, available to every child who has temporary or permanent hair loss, in order to restore self-confidence and successfully fit into their home environment. Thanks to a donation from the Municipality of Centar, a special machine for making wigs for sick children was acquired in order to use all the hair collected at this and similar events.

On this occasion, Fikret Kubat, director of the “Heart for Children with Cancer FBiH” Association, presented Mayor Srdjan Mandic with a thank-you note for his selfless support of the project and every returned child’s smile, N1 reports.
