At the event “Ćevap fest” in Banja Luka, more than 12,000 portions were sold, and more than 20,000 visits were recorded during the festival, with a significant number of tourists from the countries of the region, said the promoter of this event, Nebojša Kuštrinović.
Kuštrinović said that the visit to this sixth gastro-manifestation exceeded the most optimistic expectations.
“What could be seen on the spot is that this year we had a large number of visitors from Slovenia, who have been the most numerous guests from the region in Banja Luka for the past few years,” Kuštrinović pointed out.
He stated that this year’s event also lived up to expectations, and expressed the hope that there will be even more visitors at the next one, as well as the kebab makers themselves.
“Our mission is to promote Banja Luka ćevap as an autochthonous domestic gastronomic brand and one of our specialties that should be put in the place it deserves. We hope that by organizing the festival we have helped those efforts and that the event will last for a long time,” stated Kuštrinović.
As part of the festival, which was held in Petar Kočić Park, a fast kebab-eating competition was organized, and the first was Strahinja Aleksić from Paljana, who ate a large portion of kebab in two minutes, Srna reports.
