Most of unemployed Persons in BiH are Women

In August 2019 the number of registered unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 406.848, according to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Agency for Statistics.

If we take 2017 as a base year (2017 = 100) and compare August 2019 with the same month of 2018, we will notice that the number of unemployed decreased by 8,6 index points, or in absolute terms the number of people registered as unemployed decreased by 41.730.

If we compare registered unemployed by qualification structure, we will notice that the largest number of unemployed are highly skilled and skilled by 129.574 followed by those with a high school diploma by 114.603 and unskilled by 111.788.

The lowest number of unemployed are those with higher education by 6.677, followed by those semi-skilled by 7.399.

The share of women in registered unemployed amounted to 57,3% or in absolute terms 233.146 women.

The largest number of unemployed are those with secondary education by 73.370, then those unskilled by 65.280 and those with highly skilled and skilled qualification by 60.192 women.
