As stated in the press release, the priority activities relate to clearing the fire area and removing the consequences of the fire at the waste sorting plant, which was completely burnt.

The headquarters of civil protection of the City of Mostar issued an order to remove the remains of the burnt plant, with the aim of ensuring safe conditions for the start of rehabilitation and assessment of the resulting damage.

Also, the Civil Protection Headquarters of the City of Mostar requested the holding of an extraordinary session of the City Council no later than Thursday, July 9, in order to consider the problems caused by the fire at the Uborak landfill and the interruption of municipal waste collection.

The members of the Headquarters, led by Commander Marija Kordić, thanked the fire brigades for their multi-day engagement in extinguishing fires in the area of Mostar. Their professionalism and dedication in difficult conditions were emphasized, as well as their important role in protecting the lives of citizens, their property and the natural environment.
