BiH Will Mark Earth Day on 23 March

WWF, the global NGO for Environmental Protection, is organizing for the seventh consecutive year “Earth Hour”, the largest world volunteer action for the protection of our planet. It calls on citizens and companies to participate on 23 March at 20:30 and turn out their lights for one hour.

Last year, BiH contributed to the action by turning out lights from sights in 11 cities, including the old bridge in Mostar, Banska Dvora in Banja Luka and the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Sarajevo.

This year’s action is based on the campaign from last year “Ja hoću! A ti?” (I will! Will You?).

WWF calls on Ministers and well-known people to urge BiH citizens to keep their promises and help in sustainable actions and policies in the field of environmental protection. WWF also calls on BiH mayors in all BiH cities to take part in the action and turn off their lights around landmarks in their cities.

Earth Hour 2013 will take place from 20:30-21:30 on Saturday, 23 March.
