aa_picture_20141003_3443763_highThe exhibition on the occasion of Eid al-Adha organized by the Mostar Association of artists was solemnly open yesterday evening in the Mostar cultural centre.

The Association’s secretary and one of its founders, Šemsudin Zlatko Serdarević reminded everyone present that the Association was founded during the war in Mostar and that its members have always been reflecting the universal spirit of Mostar by their cultural and artistic engagement.

This Association regularly organizes exhibitions during the national and religious holidays and participates at various cultural events. This exhibition reflects the current situation in the art life of Mostar.

“We didn’t want to limit the exhibition by theme frames but to leave the freedom of choice to the artists. All painting technics are present at the paintings.” – said Serdarević. According to his words, all authors cultivate poetic realism as a recognizable sign of Mostar, with not much abstraction and surrealism.

18 artists participated at the exhibition: Alica, Đani, Anel Jakirović, Senad Lizde, Nusret Velić, Zarifa Vrelić, Sidika Seka Behmen, Mustafa Baja Hadžajlić, Salko Batlak, Ibrahim Kara, Merima Ivković, Muhamed Badžak, Jagoda Serdarević, Šefko Torlo, Mustafa Šoše, Adnan Ado Badžak and Salko Hondžo.

The event was open by the new president of the Mostar Association of artists, Anel Jakirović, who expressed his gratitude and satisfaction for the fact that the younger generations had an opportunity to connect experiences of the former generations with new ideas.
