sajam-knjigeAlthough we live in a time of disturbed values, and tend to neglect the real things, the interest young people show concerning literature shows us that it is not so bad.

The recent Book fair that took place at the Lenjin Boulevard proves it. One of the salesman told us, joking, that books sell like fake CD-s.

We visited the booth with books in the Old Town, offering many literary works.

“We sell good. When I say good, I mean we are in a tough financial situation, and many young people don’t have the money to buy books in our town. People have lots of interest in books, and tourist buy often too.” – said Nedžad zalihić, a book salesman from Mostar.

We asked him what is most wanted and what do young people from Mostar like to read.

“We sell mostly Ivo Andrić, Meša Selimović and Abdulah Sidran. When it comes to foreign books, the most wanted is the teenage hit “Blame it on the stars” – said Zalihić.
