Mostarians nap.baFormed a little less than a year ago, after catastrophic floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina, they have already done so much that the whole Mostar mentions them for good.

A few enthusiasts from the city on Neretva registered the Association ‘Together for our city’, whose members now collect food, clothing and household items for their fellow citizens who are socially vulnerable, and help many of them to raise money for treatment.

Founder and president of the Association Nermin Mehić said for BH Patria news agency that the Association will soon launch a project of education of socially disadvantaged people, who will learn with help of associates some crafts of which they will secure the daily life for their families.

The first educational workshop will be organized with Mostar wood carvers, where experts will teach five socially vulnerable people woodcraft. Of these five, two best will get tools to continue to operate independently after they finish training.

‘Our goal is not to bring every day a fish to the people who are in poor financial situation but to teach them to fish, to buy them a stick so that they can take care for themselves – bluntly described Mehić, adding that they are currently considering opening boutiques in Mostar, which would employ two single mothers
