The Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton filed charges against three persons for the negligent treatment that caused the death of a two-year-old girl, Džena Gadžun.

In a statement to Klix.ba, Amila Gadžun, the mother of the deceased Dzena, says that she is in a positive shock and is under great emotions after learning that the indictment has been filed.

“We are in positive shock, I am speechless. I am lost… This gives us back our hope in the prosecutor’s office, we had some doubts. They gave us hope that something will be done,” Gadžun told Klix.ba.

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Canton of Sarajevo filed charges against three people in the case of “Džena Gadžun”, the spokeswoman for the Prosecutor’s Office of the Canton Sarajevo, Azra Bavčić, confirmed for “Avaz”.

The accused are doctor Suad Rožajac, and two doctors Jasmina Halimić and Nina Jovanović.

Suad Rožajac is charged with serious criminal offenses against people’s health, in connection with the criminal offense of medical malpractice. Nina Jovanović and Jasmina Halimić are suspected of abuse of position.

We remind you that in November 2021, the girl Džena Gadžun was operated on in the private clinic “Bejtović” in Sarajevo. Complications occurred during the routine operation and she was transferred to Clinical Centre Sarajevo, where she died a few days later, on November 14th.
