Part of Sarajevo’s public transport fleet now includes 40 new vehicles, comprising 25 new trolleybuses and 15 new trams.
The new trolleybuses were manufactured by the Belarusian company BKM at a cost of 15 million euros, while the new trams were produced by the Swiss company Stadler at a cost of 35 million euros.
What they all have in common is that their electric motors were produced in Tuzla. Specifically, they were made by the Tuzla factory of the Austrian company TraktionsSysteme Austria (TSA).
“This is the first time TSA motors are powering rail vehicles in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and 25 articulated buses with our motors are already in operation. This was our first order in the BiH railway sector. We bring added value because the production took place in the industrial city of Tuzla. We are thrilled to make a significant contribution to sustainable mobility in BiH with our products,“ said Johannes Mensdorff Pouilly, Head of Sales for the Railway Sector at TSA.
TSA established its factory in Tuzla in 2008, within the premises of the former Chlor-Alkali Complex (HAK). The factory produces traction motors for railway and other vehicles, as well as for wind turbines, Klix.ba writes.
