20.5 Million BAM secured for the Railways of the Federation of BiH

At Thursday’s session in Mostar, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), on the proposal of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, adopted the Decision on the adoption of the Program for the expenditure of funds of the current transfer “Subsidies to public enterprises – Transfer to railways of the FBiH”, determined by the Budget of the FBiH for 2023 to this ministry.

This program is worth a total of 14,500,000 BAM. Of that, funds of 14 million BAM will be distributed to Zeljeznice FBiH d.o.o. Sarajevo, 11,900,000 BAM is planned for financing the maintenance of the railway infrastructure, 2,000,000 BAM for co-financing the provision of railway passenger transport services, and 100,000 BAM for the co-financing of the provision of combined railway transport services.

As explained, the reason for making the Decision is the implementation of the legal provision according to which the FBiH undertook to implement the financial consolidation of Zeljeznice FBiH d.o.o. Sarajevo with the aim of ensuring the financial viability and stability of the operations of this company, Biznis Info reports.
