hajlaGroup of mountaineers from B&H, together with mountaineers from the region will participate at the 17 memorial march to Hajla, which is traditionally  held in January to commemorate the climber Safet Mavrić Ćako from Novi Pazar.

The memorial march to Halja “Safet Mavrić-Ćako” will be held from 10-12 January, under organizations of Mountain – Skiing club “Hajla” from Rožaje, with the support of Municipality Rožaje.

165 participants are registered so far. They will be accommodated at the mountain house “Jelenčica”, as well as in the local houses that are rented for this occasion.

Last year’s march gathered 210 mountaineers from the region, and 109 participants made it to the top of Hajla. Participants of the march were mountaineers from Turkey, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro…

Safet Mavrić Ćako died on 6 January 1997 on Hajla near Rožaje, on a mountain that he loved the most and where he prepared for the expeditions of the highest peaks.
