MP Vukanovic: Republika Srpska is on the Verge of Bankruptcy

In February, Nebojša Vukanović, a member of the opposition Movement for Justice and Order in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, filed a criminal complaint against Draško Stanivuković, the mayor of Banjaluka, and Radovan Višković, the Prime Minister of the Republik Srpska, for negligent work in the service, misuse of budget funds and abuse of official position. and authorizations – related to the construction of a tennis court in Banja Luka for the needs of the Serbian Open tournament.

He spoke about this for BHRT this morning.

“I have nothing against the arrival of athletes and big sports events, but I have against crime, said Vukanović, talking about the construction of a tennis complex in Banja Luka. It’s a big crime, everything was done against the law. I filed a criminal report with two amendments. I have all the material evidence. I was in the police station in Zalužani for several hours where I explained everything. The money was spent without any control.”

He also said that everything was agreed between Draško Stanivuković and Milorad Dodik.

“The man has become a servant of big capital and tycoons,” said Vukanović for Stanivuković.

“He became Milorad Dodik’s servant, Dodik really humiliates him publicly. With what Dodik holds him in his hand”.

I absolutely regretted supporting Draško Stanivuković, he emphasized.

“There is no essential difference between Dodik and Stanivuković. They are both populists, they are hurting something, they are insulting others”.

Republika Srpska is chronically on the verge of bankruptcy, and foreigners and the international community have rescued Milorad Dodik on dozens of occasions. From the EBRD loan for the construction of highways to Wigemark’s insistence on the law on excise duties, which saved RS from bankruptcy, Vukanović told BHRT.

“One of the reasons for this panic behavior is the conflict it has with one of the largest banks in the Republika Srpska, which is Unicredit Bank. I must say that these are verdicts on the verge of madness. Some company backed by tycoons and politicians close to the ruling oligarchy sued Unicredit Bank because they closed their bank account, and that company did not even have a turnover stamp, and it needs to collect almost 250 million BAM. And that verdict, if confirmed in the second instance, would lead to the closure of Unicredit Bank, and that bank has already warned that it will cause a lot of chaos. However, the government thinks it can rob those Italians who are behind it, and that’s why Unicredit Bank is not buying domestic bonds in response. The other banks have reached their maximum.”
