Museum of War Childhood is one of BiH projects that attracted plenty of attention in BiH nd the world this year. Founder of the Museum Jasminko Halilović is currently at the One Young World Summit in Canada, where as the representative of BiH he spoke about the Museum. After the summit, he will continue promoting the project in North America.
One Young World Summit was founded in 2009 as an initiative to gather in one place prospective young minds from all around the world and already established leaders from different fields related to activism and creation of positive changes in the society. This year the summit was held in Ottawa, Canada, from September 28 until October 1.
Halilović is one of 1.300 young leaders from 196 countries of the world. Famous guests such as Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Kofi Annan, Emma Watson, Cher, Bruce Dickinson and many other famous personas including former and current state officials on high positions joined the young leaders on this summit.
“I am happy I was the representative of BiH at this year’s One Young World Summit in Ottawa. This is truly a great event and, as someone who participated in events such as the World Economic Forum, I can say this is probably the world’s largest youth event,” Halilović said.
Halilović had an opportunity to speak in one of the plenary sessions on the topic of peace and security, when he presented the Museum of War Childhood and spoke about its importance and aims for the future.
“Judging by reactions on social networks and people who approached me during the conference, the Museum of War Childhood made the public here also interested, just like it will do everywhere I go and present it. We will continue the North America tour at one of the most important universities here,” Halilović said.
In the next ten days, Halilović will hold lectures and presentations at the Toronto University, Northwestern University Chicago, and Columbia University New York.
Museum recently got its premises in the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo and citizens can now buy lifetime tickets.
