Musk supports US Withdrawal from UN and NATO

American billionaire Elon Musk has agreed with the idea of Washington withdrawing from the UN and NATO.

In late February, Republicans in the US Senate introduced a bill on the complete withdrawal of the country from the UN. The document calls for the suspension of all US funding of the world organization and prohibits any US participation in UN peacekeeping missions.

Senator Mike Lee called on Washington to withdraw from NATO in several posts on the X network on Saturday.

“I agree,” Musk posted on the X network late last night in response to a post by American political commentator Gunther Eagleman, who suggested that it was time for the US to “leave NATO and the UN.”

Shortly after taking office on January 20, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to withdraw the country from the World Health Organization, citing unfair funding policies.

Trump has also repeatedly criticized Europe for its small contribution to NATO’s defense capability and has asked all members to increase defense spending to five percent of gross domestic product.
