The Muslim charity organization “Merhamet” has distributed food packages to families in need in Sarajevo, Maglaj, Travnik, Tuzla, Gorazde and Zenica on the occasion of Easter, Fena news agency reports.
The president of this humanitarian organization, Kenan Vrbanjac, expressed his pleasure at rejoicing the Orthodox citizens on their Easter holiday, as they did last week with Catholic citizens on Easter.
“This is another confirmation that Merhamet is an open humanitarian organization that helps everyone, regardless of religion and nation, about what we are very proud,” Vrbanjac said, congratulating Easter to all people of the Orthodox faith in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Regional Board of “Merhamet” Sarajevo distributed food packages and packages with hygiene products to families in the Sarajevo settlement of Reljevo.
Director of the Merhamet Sarajevo Regional Board Munib Bujak with parish priest Dusko Lalovic also visited several families and delivered packages among them and traditional song “sevdalinka” interpreter Slobodan Lalic, who thanked him for his help, emphasizing that these visits and unexpected gifts had made his holidays even better.
The parish priest Dusko Lalovic thanked “Merhamet” who remembered his fellow Orthodox believers, saying that any assistance to the people of the Religious Parish was welcome, and this help would allow them to have a better day.
The Maglaj Regional Committee distributed food packages to families in the towns of Radojicic, Bocinja and Poljice, as well as in Mekis in the municipality of Tesanj.
