Britain Soccer Premier LeagueNapoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis’s hunt for a man to replace Edinson Cavani has led him to Manchester City’s Edin Džeko, reports forzaitalianfootball.com

The man in charge at the San Paolo is preparing for the worst in the case of the Uruguayan who has enjoyed a turbulent past few months both on the field and in his personal life.

According to Illussidiario, an exchange could now be mooted with Premier League champions Manchester City which would see ‘El Matador’ move to Eastlands while the Bosnian would join the Partenopei although City would also have to fork over a further €40m as well as the former Wolfsburg man.

That money would then be used to reinvest within the team in each department and they would command such a high fee as well as the player himself due to Cavani having recently signed a new deal with a large release clause.

The alternative to Džeko, a previous reported target for Juventus and AC Milan, is to sign Internacional’s Leandro Damiao.
