NATO headquarters in Sarajevo in cooperation with the Joint Staff of B&H Armed Forces, Ministry of Defense of B&H and Norwegian Institute for foreign affairs will organize the workshop “Armed Forces in B&H, architecture and abilities of intelligence, surveillance, determining of a target and reconnaissance (ISTAR)” from 3-5 December 2013.
The main goal of this workshop is to create an ISTAR concept that will reflect future ISTAR needs in B&H in accordance with available resources and as agreed in the cooperation agreement of B&H and NATO.
The Deputy Commander of NATO headquarters in Sarajevo Brigadier Fauske opened this workshop and in his introductory speech stated that the “results of this workshop will help the process of achieving the necessary level of interoperability of the B&H Armed Forces units that will provide support to the declared units of B&H Armed Forces in peace support operations.
The Brigadier ended his speech with the words “creation of ISTAR concept will lay grounds for further development in this functional area and will contribute to the overall transformation process of the B&H Armed Forces in the ambitions for the accession of B&H to EU integrations”
