Extensive action of arresting of suspects for war crimes in Kotor Varos was conducted by the order of the Prosecutor’s Office. Six persons with high-level of responsibility were arrested, and dozens of members of SIPA were on the field.
By the order of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes, police officers of SIPA arrested 6 suspects in the area of Banja Luka, Kotor Varos and Prnjavor, after thoroughly planned and prepared action.
This is a case of Category 2, in which the investigation was started in the prosecution of the ICTY, and forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for further processing.
Arrested suspects are:
Slobodan Zupljanin, called Bebac, born on 17.11.1957. in Maslovare, Kotor Varos,
Bosko Peulic, born on 14.1.1947. in Donji Vijčani, Prnjavor,
Aleksandar Petrovic, called Sasa, born on 28.12.1970. in Kotor Varos,
Manojlo Tepic, called Mane, born on 16.5.1960. in Postolje, Kotor Varos,
Janko Trivic, born on 04.06.1949. in the village Josavka, Celinac,
Nedeljko Djekanovic, born on 15.11.1958. in the village Grabovica, Kotor Varos.
These suspects are under investigation for committing the war crimes against victims of Bosniak and Croatian nationality in the area of Kotor Varos, in 1992, as well as in the later period, as stated by the Prosecutor’s Office.
They are charged for committing persecution of about 5,000 Bosniak and Croatian nationality from Kotor Varos, in which at least 300 people were murdered, as well as tortured, abused, raped, illegally detained, and other forms of crime, while they were acting as senior officials of the army (the commanders of brigades and battalions).
