NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo in cooperation with the Division of Procurement and Logistics of B&H Ministry of Defense and the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of B&H hosted a seminar on “Support of information technology of operational logistic reporting and planning in B&H Armed Forces”, which is being held in Fojnica, from 17-20 February 2014.
The main objective of this seminar is to inform the appropriate structures of the B&H Ministry of Defense and B&H Armed Forces on the current situation and the importance of establishing a logistic information network (WAN) and its availability for daily logistics planning and reporting with the aim of building a sustainable logistics system of defensive structures in B&H as a direct support to the operational capabilities of the B&H Armed Forces.
The Commander of NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Merle Hart officially opened the seminar, who on that occasion emphasized that “at a time of budget limitations and lack of resources for the supply and maintenance, the functional logistics system that includes reporting, analysis, planning and procurement is the only way in which the Armed Forces can make maximum use of its resources in this area”.
Representatives of B&H Ministry of Defense, B&H Armed Forces and NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, as well as Austrian experts gave a joint contribution for the success of this seminar.
